I was building my WordPress Cider website and found it limited in the styles that I could implement. I knew what I wanted it to look like, but without an inital background in software development, I was not sure where to start. This outdated blog still sits on wordpress for the moment. Updating my blog is in my list of projects to update as I continue to build my skills, but I am currently having a break from cider blogging whilst I persue my love of software development.

Five months on from completing this site, I have finished a 15 week intensive in software development with Sky and QC. This has further expanded my love of software development where I worked in an agile team and built projects in PHP, JQuery, MySQL and CSS.

Software Development

First Project: I looked at loads of examples of websites online and tried to work out what styles would suit my own website

First Project: This site was built in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I also started exploring Ruby on Rails.

First Project: I used Visual Studio Code, Git and GitHub to manage my version code and share my work with others

QC Project: I quickly learnt PHP, JQuery and Bootstrap to build a responsive website that looked professional and modern in a team of 3.

QC Project: We stored our database in MySQL and managed our workload using agile methodlogies. Working in GIT became essential.

I'm in the process of building my new portfolio in PHP, JQuery and MySQL using the MVC structure. Here's a sneak peak.
